windows is as good as free it comes with most computers and does most things we need reasonably well... and a comptuer div such as myself can use it effortlesly, that said i've been windows since 3.1 (1996),and am computer literate and fluent in a half dozen languages...c, c+, C++, visual basic etc etc...

3.1 was far more stable than anything since. I never had a crash that I can remember until 2000 came out. I started programming on a TRS80 in basic and got a VIC-20, then C64, 128 and lastly the Amiga until commodore dropped the ball for some reason. I did a little bit of tinker in an apple 2C and and a TI-99 if my memory serves me right. I'd love to see the look on the face of the "whizkids" of today if they flipped a switch and only had a blinking dot, no hard drive and no internet connection. You rule.
